Jeff has served in many leadership roles, including being a Medical Director of Hematology-Oncology Services, serving as a Chair of a hospital Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, helping to create an Anticoagulation Task Force, developing a Thoracic Oncology Program, establishing a new outpatient medical infusion center, and coordinating a Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis Task Force.
Jeff has been honored a number of times by his physician colleagues, which has allowed him to serve in many important leadership roles. He was a Department of Medicine Chair, a Member-at-large to Medical Staff Executive Committees, and a Bylaws Committee Chair.
Jeff has served also in leadership roles state-wide in Connecticut. He is a Past President of the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS). Prior to being President, he served as President-Elect and Vice-President, as well as President of the Windham County Medical Association. Jeff is the founding Chair of the CTHealth Information Exchange, the first and only operational HIE in Connecticut. Currently, Jeff is Chair of the CSMS Bylaws Committee. He has served as an Associate Councilor and then Councilor of the state medical society. Jeff worked on the Connecticut Medical Examining Board, part of his effort to protect patient safety and to promote good medical care.
Jeff’s work over the years has extended to other public health settings, such as the Board of Health in Worcester, MA, and the Board of the Northeast District (CT) Department of Public Health.
Outside of the medical field, Jeff has been involved in his community. He serves as an elected member of Woodstock’s Planning & Zoning Commission, doing so since 2007. Jeff is currently in his 4th term as a Commissioner. He has been the Commission Chair since 2008, unanimously re-elected by his fellow Commissioners each year. He served previously as Chair of Woodstock’s Municipal Finance Advisory Task Force and its Municipal Telecommunications Task Force.
Jeff is President of the Woodstock Education Foundation and Treasurer of the Woodstock Agricultural Society, which stems from his strong interest in helping public education and local agriculture, respectively.
Jeff is a member of the New Roxbury Land Trust, the Windham Land Trust, the MA Audubon Society, and the CT Audubon Society, following through on his support to promote environmental conservation and preservation.
Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, going to Cape Cod, caring for his tropical fish, being with his cat (Larry), and building Legos.
Jeff’s family is his wife (Lisa) and his son (Benjamin).
